NOEMI KOSMOWSKI
OILS, MIXED MEDIA, HAND CRAFTED JEWELRY
Noemi Kosmowski was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1955 to a family of four generations of professional artists.  From 1970 through the early eighties, she apprenticed under her famous artist father, Zdzislaw Lachur, who is renowned throughout Poland and all of Europe for his paintings of Polish Jewish Holocaust survivors. As part of her art training, Noemi assisting him in his studio with a myriad of commissions.  In 1984, Noemi moved to Germany with her husband, Kristof, where she refined her art techniques and had several private shows.  After a brief stay in New York, Noemi and her family relocated to south Florida.  During that time, she developed a style of realism that is truly technically amazing.  Whether it is strawberries in a reflective cup or olives in a martini glass, her paintings are so life-like that the viewer can almost taste the flavor of the subject. Noemi continues her work in realism, however,  she has broadened her approach to also include a more contemporary and impressionistic style of work.
In 2007, Noemi and her family moved west to Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The rich landscape of the Roaring Fork Valley provided many opportunities for painting.  Images from nature, whether they are large or a small in scale, reflect a vibrant local color palette. Strokes of colorful seasons, wildlife and historic landmarks now fill her oil canvases. Coorporate private collectors treasure Noemi’s art across the United States, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
Ever the Renaissance woman, the people of Glenwood  Springs  know Noemi, not only for her oil paintings and her adventurous murals which stretch far and wide across the town on buildings, bridges and even on electrical boxes, but also as a local musician who plays in a group, The Painter's Stage, along with her husband, Kristof, and her two children, Eva, and Max.  Her latest passions are creating beautiful hand crafted jewelry and teaching her many skills to others. Often you will see a student’s project sitting next to her own artwork.  She offers all ages a chance to paint with oil and acrylic in a professional setting at her studio, The Art Room,  in Glenwood Springs.
